Lower Dolpo Trek

Make a rendezvous with the remote Himalaya Mountains of Dolpo, the land of the Oscar nominated Caravan fame, Thinley, a culture nearby Tibet that has survived its originality for centuries. Thanks to the reportage of National Geographic Fame Eric Valli, the Dolpo region of Nepal has been shown in all its integrity and full mystical experience. Along with one of the deepest Himalayan Lakes, the Phokhsundo with beautiful turquoise blue water, watch the yak caravans that maintain the traditional salt trade with Tibet. The region lies further north from the Dhaulagiri Range in the rain shadow of the Himalayas - reflected in the colorful barren slopes of the mountains where the play of light and shadow is a perpetual fascinating spectacle. In summer, the caravans of yaks and sheep run through this valley on a trade route through the Himalayas and allows the exchange not only goods but also of ideas between the Tibetan Plateau and the valleys of Nepal.

The Lower Dolpo Trek is meant for real adventurers wishing for an off-the-beaten-path experience. This remote region in western Nepal was opened for the foreigners only in 1990. The trek passes through Shey-Phoksundo National Park with spectacular mountain scenery, Buddhist monasteries and yak caravans. Our trek takes us through a wooded area, then load through rugged canyons in the barren plateau near the border with Tibet. After your arrival in Kathmandu, make a historical and cultural tour of Kathmandu valley and monuments while we obtain special permit for the lower Dopla trekking. Then we take our flight to Jhupal via Nepalgunj. Experience the high altitude tundra and rocks and the microclimate of Lower Dolpo and Phoksumdo with the cold air of the glaciers of Kanjiroba.

Other trek Information

Stay Safe

Altitude Sickness: The main and common risk while trekking above about 2500m is Altitude sickness. Altitude sickness is caused by acute exposure to low partial pressure of oxygen at high altitude. The available amount of oxygen to sustain mental and physical alertness decreases with altitude. Available oxygen drops as the air density itself, the number of molecules (of both oxygen and nitrogen) per given volume, drops as altitude increases. So don’t ignore, if you have any symptoms then descending to a lower altitude is the only option.

Water: Have some means to purify water, iodine or a fine ceramic filter are the best options. The streams should be considered polluted and whilst bottled water is often available, the disposal of plastic bottles is a problem.

Electricity in Nepal
Nepal is a developing country, Outside of major cities area electricity on trekking can be scares. You should have to pay 100-800 NRs per hour to charge goods on many lodges and also many tea-house treks, including in Annapurna base camp trek, Everest Base camp trek and many others treks also. Chargers often won't work on low power solar systems you find right up in the mountains so u can buy alternative bayonet light to electricity power plug converter, which will only works in low voltage is highlow. The standard Nepalese electrical outlet is a three-pronged triangle so bring three-pronged triangle chargers.

Nepal Climate information

Nepal is a landlocked country which lies in Hindu Kush Himalayan region. Nepal has monsoonal climate having four main seasons: spring, summer, monsoon, autumn and winter.

Below is a general guide to conditions at different seasons:
January to March (winter): In this season temperature will decrease at often 0°C (32°F) at night, with extreme cold at high elevations. It is possible to trek in places like the Everest region during the winter but due to extreme cold weather and heavy snow fall it may be quite difficult than as usual.
April to June (summer): In these months it is quite warm and dry weather. There is an abundance of blooming flowers in the Himalayas at this time, with rhododendrons, in particular, adding a splash of color to the landscape. This season is the best time to undertake mountain expeditions.
June to September (Monsoon): There will be heavy monsoonal rainfall in this season. Rains are generally lighter in high Himalayan reasons. In this season the mountain ranges are not often visible due to the clouds.
October to December (autumn): These months are cool and clear which is due to the end of monsoon, there is little dust in the air so this is the best season to visit the hilly and mountainous regions.

Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek

Overview

With the literal meaning of “five great treasures of snow”, Kanchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the entire globe with the altitude of 8585m. Situated in the eastern Nepal, Kanchanjunga actually has seven major peaks. This extremely furious and unpredictable mountain peak is known for the avalanches it throws down which are said to be largest.

Eastern portion of Nepal is typically authenticated by a wide diversity of various ethnic group including Rai and Limbu residing, extensive range of flora and fauna because of its higher summer rainfall, rare remoteness and the invincibly astonishing mountain panorama.

The trip starts with a short airstrip from Kathmandu to Biratnagar. From Biratnagar we will drive to Basantapur and commence the trek to Chauki. Following the glacial torrent of Tamur and Ghunsa River we will trek towards the Kanchanjunga Himal.  The peak dwarfs the entire alpine grandeur dominating the whole area. We will return back following the vivid southern traverse of the mountain to Mirgin La pass (4500m). This tricky traverse of the region is rarely visited in the recent years due to its uber -hypocritical character. Apart from all these, the adventure seekers from all over the globe come here to feel the extreme side of nature.

Hiunchuli Peak Climbing

Hinchuli -  is one of three major peaks within the periphery of Annapurna sanctuary and was discovered by Col. Jimmy Roberts. Modi khola is seen from its eastern face which guards the main entrance to Annapurna sanctuary. In the year 1971 via the south east face it was climbed by the American Peace Corps Expedition for the first time. Mt. Hiunchuli still remains an unknown route. So, a few trekkers had climbed this peak because it lies in a remote location. This trekking way is not easy because it passes through steeps and dense bamboo forest, which is menaced by invisible danger of hanging glaciers. From the north, the mountain rises steeply above the moraines of the Annapurna south glacier in a series of shabby buttresses and an well defined and complicated north ridge. This leads to ultimate triangle of fluted ice which forms the summit. In the east, the summit is bounded by a ridge which rises in an icy parabola, and then we descend towards moraines over the lodges at base camp. Climbing Hiunchuli peaks requires itinerary, map, good knowledge and experience because it is considered as one of the most difficult climbs for its climbing routes.

20 days an all, 3 Nights hotel in Kathmandu, 2 Nights in Pokhara, drive or fly to Pokhara with senic views, Pokhara City, Kathmandu Sightseeing, Annapurna base camp, Poon Hill

Dhaulagiri Round Trek is the most popular trekking package in the Dhaulagiri Region of Nepal. This site is one of the most preferred destinations for trekking. Past trekkers have enjoyed this trek and have admired to leave positive reviews behind.

This trek is a long and challenging one. It is categorized under strenuous group. The Dhaulagiri Round Trek takes you all over the Dhaulagiri Region and finally to the Dhaulagiri [8,167m] Base Camp site. It is the world’s seventh highest peak in the world.

As to begin this trip, we drive towards Beni through green landscapes following Myagdi Khola towards west to Darbang. From there we get a turn to the North following lowland forests and then climb elevations that take us towards higher altitudes. As soon as we cross a pass named French Col Pass [5,240m], we start walking through snow carpeted lands. Our trek continues and passes through another pass known as Dhamus pass. This point of the trek reads an altitude of 5,155 meters. The Dhaulagiri Round Trek ends as we descend towards Marpha. This place is very popular in producing liquor from fermented apples. After exploring the site, we return to Pokhara through the Ghorepani ridge.

Dhaulagiri Round Trek is least conquered by trekkers. This is because of remoteness and difficulties in crossing the passes. However, past trekkers have left positive reviews and have taken lifelong memories with them after the trek.
