Among the World’s 14 Highest Mountain Peaks (above 8,000 meters) Nepal Cover 8 Peak. Among them Cho-Oyu is sixth highest mountain in the world. It is about 8,201m (26906 ft) above sea level. Cho Oyu means “Turquoise Goddess” in Tibetan. The mountain stands on the border of Nepal and Tibet. Cho Oyu is considered the easiest 8,000 metre peak to climb. Cho Oyu was first attempted in 1952. Eric Shipton and included Edmund Hillary & Tom Bourdillon attempted for the first time. But the mountain was first climbed on October 19, 1954, by Herbert Tichy, Joseph Jöchler and Sherpa Pasang Dawa Lama of an Austrian expedition via the north-west ridge.
