Itinerary
Day 1. Arrival in Bishkek
- Meet & greet at Manas Airport.
- Transfer to hotel (30 km, 40–50 min).
- City tour: explore Ala‑Too Square with views of the Kyrgyz Range, visit green parks and the Manas Complex.
Day 2. Bishkek → Shamsi Gorge
- Drive to Shamsi (120 km, 1.5–2 h).
- Visit the historic Burana Tower (former capital of the Karakhanid Khanate).
- Trek along At‑Jailoo Gorge towards Shamsi Pass (2 h).
- Camp setup by a river (2 300 m). Dinner and overnight in tents.
Day 3. Shamsi Pass (3 570 m)
- Early start for a long day of hiking.
- Ascend to Shamsi Pass, cross shallow streams.
- Lunch at the pass, descent to Sarala‑Saz Jailoo (high‑altitude pasture).
- 25 km trek, overnight in tents (3 000 m).
Day 4. Eastern Karakol Valley
- Cross Buzulgan‑Suu River (fording), trek to the watershed ridge.
- Descend to Eastern Karakol River, cross a bridge.
- Camp near Buchuk Pass (2 500 m), 5–6 h hike.
Day 5. Eastern Syok Gorge via Buchuk Pass (3 400 m)
- Traverse to Eastern Syok Valley.
- Scenic camp by the river (2 550 m), overnight in tents.
Day 6. Kyzart Pass
- Cross Eastern Syok River, ascend Kumbel Gorge.
- Pass Kumbel Pass (3 550 m), traverse to Kyzart Pass (divides Kochkor and Jumgal valleys).
- Established camp with driver and chef (2 550 m), 8–9 h trek.
Day 7. Kelemche Valley
- Cross Kyzart Valley, climb Chaar‑Archa Pass (3 039 m).
- Descend to Kelemche Valley (2 500 m), 6 h hike, overnight in tents.
Day 8. Son‑Kul Lake (3 013 m)
- Ascend Jangyz‑Karagai Pass (3 325 m) — panoramic view of Son‑Kul.
- Gentle descent to lakeside camp (3 020 m), surrounded by grazing livestock and yurts.
- Sunset views, overnight in tents, 6–7 h trek.
Day 9. Kochkorka Village
- Farewell to the lake, drive to Kochkorka.
- Souvenir shopping, traditional lunch with locals.
- Drive back to Bishkek (4 h), overnight at hotel.
Day 10. Departure
- Hotel pickup and transfer to Manas Airport. Safe travels home!
