About Khan Tengri Peak

Khan Tengri is renowned not only for its height, but also for its steep ice slopes, powerful icefalls, and avalanche-prone couloirs, which make every ascent demanding and highly rewarding. Despite its reputation as a “technical” seven-thousander, Khan Tengri remains one of the most desirable objectives for experienced alpinists worldwide.

Routes to the Summit: South & North

Khan Tengri can be climbed from two main directions, each with its own character:

  • South Route (South Inylchek Glacier)
The more classic and commonly used approach, featuring established Base Camp infrastructure, logical camp progression, and excellent acclimatization opportunities. It is often chosen for guided group expeditions.

  • North Route (North Inylchek / Karkara side)
This route is preferred by experienced climbers because it is less avalanche-prone than the southern approach, although it is technically more demanding. Currently, we provide logistics compatible with the South Inylchek Base Camp system, ensuring reliable access and full expedition support.

👉 ClimberCA offers guided expedition programs on both the South and North routes, allowing participants to choose the approach that best fits their experience and objectives.
