This 8-day trekking and photography expedition in the Fann Mountains is designed for travelers who want to experience the most scenic landscapes of Central Asia in a compact and diverse itinerary.
The route connects the most iconic locations of the region — including Kulikalon Lakes, Alaudin Lakes, Mutnye Lakes, and high mountain passes above 3,500 meters — while offering exceptional opportunities for landscape photography.
The program is perfectly combined with travel through Uzbekistan, starting in Samarkand and finishing in Tashkent, creating a unique mountains + Silk Road experience.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Samarkand → Guitan (1,800 m)
Early morning transfer from Samarkand to the Tajikistan border.
After crossing the border and meeting the guide team, continue by vehicle to the village of Guitan.
Accommodation in a traditional guesthouse.
Driving time: 5–6 hours / 220 km
Day 2 – Guitan → Guitan Pass (2,600 m) → Chukurak Lake
Trek from Guitan village over the Guitan Pass (2,600 m) and descend to the picturesque Chukurak Lake.
Distance: ~13 km
Duration: 5–6 hours

Day 3 – Chukurak Lake → Chukurak Pass (3,165 m) → Kulikalon Lakes (2,800 m)
Cross the Chukurak Pass and descend into the stunning Kulikalon Lakes basin, surrounded by towering rock walls.
Distance: ~15 km
Duration: 5–6 hours

Day 4 – Kulikalon Lakes → Dushaha Lake (3,000 m)
A shorter trekking day with gradual ascent to Dushaha Lake, offering excellent photography conditions.

Day 5 – Dushaha → Alaudin Pass (3,800 m) → Alaudin Lakes (2,750 m)
One of the most scenic days of the trek.
Cross the Alaudin Pass (3,800 m) with panoramic views, then descend to the famous Alaudin Lakes.

Duration: 5–6 hours

Day 6 – Alaudin Lakes → Mutnye Lakes (3,500 m)
Radial hike to the dramatic Mutnye Lakes, located near the glaciers of Chimtarga Peak (5,489 m).
Return to camp.
Distance: ~16 km

Day 7 – Alaudin Lakes → Chapdara Pass (3,400 m) → Bodhona Gorge (2,300 m)
Cross the Chapdara Pass and descend into the scenic Bodhona Gorge.

Day 8 – Transfer to Tashkent via Khujand
Transfer to Tashkent via Khujand and the Oybek border crossing.
