Guided Ascent of Lenin Peak (7,134 m)
Classic Program from Achik-Tash Base Camp
Expedition Overview
Lenin Peak (7,134 m) is one of the world’s most popular and achievable 7,000-meter summits—often considered the perfect step into true high-altitude mountaineering. Located in the Alay Range (Pamirs), it offers a classic glaciated route with big-mountain conditions, dramatic scenery, and a straightforward expedition structure.
The Classic Route does not involve technical rock climbing, but it absolutely requires solid high-altitude fitness and confident movement on glaciers: crampon technique, rope-team travel, crevasse safety, and steady pacing over long summit-day hours. At 7,000+ meters, even “non-technical” terrain becomes serious—cold, wind, altitude effects, and whiteout risk are all real factors.
Logistics Made Easy
Achik-Tash Base Camp (3,600 m) is accessible by vehicle, and Osh has an international airport, making the expedition logistics among the most convenient of any 7,000-meter climb in Central Asia.
Who This Climb Is For
To join the guided ascent, you should have:
-
Good overall physical fitness and endurance
-
Basic mountaineering skills (crampons, ice axe basics, rope travel)
-
Previous altitude experience (recommended)
-
Strong motivation and readiness to work in a high-mountain environment

Guided Lenin Peak Program (Classic Route)
Day 1. Osh – Achik-Tash Base Camp (3,600 m)
Meet the group at Osh Airport. After everyone assembles, we transfer to Achik-Tash Base Camp. The drive crosses two scenic mountain passes and takes approximately 5–7 hours.
Upon arrival: check-in, camp orientation, and a briefing from the camp manager/administrator with all key organizational details.
Day 2. Acclimatization at Base Camp / Waterfall Walk
A light acclimatization hike in the Base Camp area. Gear check and fitting of high-altitude equipment.
A rental station operates at Base Camp—equipment must be reserved in advance.
Day 3. Acclimatization Hike to Petrovsky Peak Ridge (4,000 m)
Acclimatization ascent to the Petrovsky Peak Ridge with panoramic views over the Alay Valley and the Achik-Tash Gorge. Return to Base Camp, rest, and preparation for the move to Camp 1.
Day 4. Trek to Camp 1 (4,400 m)
Ascent to Camp 1. Personal loads can be transported by horses (optional, extra charge).
Route details:
-
Base Camp → Lukovaya Polyana (~1 hour on foot; vehicle access possible)
-
Continue via Travelers’ Pass and traverse along the spur on the right side of the Lenin Glacier
Total time: 4–5 hours
A river crossing is required before reaching Camp 1.
Day 5. Acclimatization Climb: Yukhin Peak (5,100 m) or Domashniy Peak (4,700 m)
A strong acclimatization climb without the need for technical equipment. Excellent preparation for higher camps. Return to Camp 1 for overnight.
Day 6. Reserve Day / Preparation for Camp 2
Rest, health monitoring, and packing for glacier travel. Equipment and food preparation for the move to Camp 2.
Day 7. Ascent to Camp 2 (5,300 m)
Departure one hour before sunrise. Movement in crampons and rope teams. The route follows the north side, left of the icefall, crossing crevassed terrain. The most exposed sections are equipped with fixed lines.
In the upper section, you reach the broad ice plateau known as “Skovorodka.”
Ascent time: 7–9 hours
Overnight in tents at Camp 2. Self-catering.
Day 8. Ascent to Camp 3 (6,100 m)
Start at 09:00. Roped travel in crampons. After a steep section, the route gains the gentle northwest ridge and continues toward the dome of Razdelnaya Peak.
Time: 4–6 hours
Overnight at Camp 3.
