Discover the Untouched Beauty of Uzbekistan’s Mountains: Your Ultimate Hiking Adventure Awaits

Experience the thrill of hiking, hillwalking, and walking-tours in the breathtaking landscapes of the Western Tien-Shan

Why Choose Hiking in Uzbekistan?

There’s a reason why passionate adventurers consider hiking the purest way to experience nature. Unlike vehicle-based tours, walking allows your senses to fully immerse in the environment—no windows distort your view, no engine noise masks the birdsong, and no fellow passengers distract from the profound connection with the wilderness. For those seeking authentic walking-tourstramping, or even thru-hiking adventures, the mountains of Uzbekistan offer unparalleled experiences that simply cannot be reached by road.

The majestic peaks surrounding Tashkent beckon hillwalking enthusiasts from around the globe. Here, every step reveals ancient landscapes, dramatic gorges, and panoramas that will remain etched in your memory forever.

The Jewel of the Western Tien-Shan: Chimgan Mountains

Located just 90 kilometers from Tashkent, the Chimgan Mountains stand as the most celebrated natural playground in Uzbekistan. Part of the magnificent Chatkal range, this region offers an extraordinary variety of terrain for every type of mountain enthusiast.

Key highlights include:

  • Smaller Chimgan Peak – accessible ascents with rewarding views

  • The dramatic Black Waterfall (40 meters) cascading below Greater Chimgan

  • The enchanting Gulkam waterfalls and canyon system

  • Vast plateaus perfect for landscape photography

Whether you’re an experienced mountaineer or a passionate amateur photographer, the Uzbekistan Mountains near to Tashkent provide endless opportunities for discovery.
