Overview

Upper mustang trek is one of the most exotic treks that introduce us to the hidden world of old Buddhist kingdom Mustang also called Lo. In the past this area used to be the part of Tibetan empire, which makes this place much similar to Tibet in both land topography and lifestyle. Tibetan Buddhism is still practiced here in very raw form.

Mustang situated in the rain shadow area of Dhaulagiri takes you in to a desolate landscape which is surrounded by rocks of bizarre formation. The presence of villages with corn fields in this landscape makes this place even more beautiful.  The trail winds around the salt caravan route of old days.

The upper Mustang trek takes us to Lo Manthang. Lo Manthang is a medieval town surrounded by huge town wall and was attached into Tibet unitil 14th century. The area is restricted and requires special permit.  Lo Manthang is a small kingdom which still has a King. The Palace is surrounded by gompas and houses.

Upper Mustang trek gives you once in a lifetime opportunity to experience unique arid Himalayan beauty along with unusual landscape. The landscape here is characterized by windy and arid valleys, eroded canyons and stratified rock formation. As we return we will visit the holy temple of Muktinath which is sacred to both Hindus and Buddhist.

This is one of the classic and most rewarding treks on the western hills in Nepal offering grand view of the three highest 8000m mountain range Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Mt. Dhaulagiri I (8167m) and Mt. Manaslu (8163m) including arrays of over 6000m snow capped peaks, The trail follows the river Marshyangdi all the way to its source, the glacial lake in Manang, through the rural farm villages and terraced farm fields from the sub-tropic climate to the arctic landscape and through the rain forest to the alpine woodland.

Treks follows the Yak country and finally over to the Thorung La (5416m) pass with amazing views of the surrounding landscapes and magnificent peaks, After the strenuous walk up to the top of Thornag La we reach the highest point of this trek. The trail descends most of the way to Pokhara passing thought the holy site of Muktinath. Muktinath is one of the sources of the Kali Gandaki River. Through the deepest gorge of Kali Gandaki River Valley and passing the charming Villages of Jomsom, Marpha, Tukuche and Tatopani (Hot Spring), we end our trek at Pokhara one of the most scenic places on this planet. The dramatic deep valleys and mountain scenery is the reason for this trek, and the experience is truly awe-inspiring.

A moderate to challenging trek which sometime requires to walk on the steep up and down mountain path can be done anytime of the year expect monsoon severe winter when the Thorung La Pass blocked by snow.

Called as Sagarmatha “Sky Head” by Nepali and Chomolungma “The Mother Goddess” by Tibetans, Everest is the highest peak in the world with the altitude of 8848m. This trek that goes to the lap of Everest and is designed to fulfill dream of many people to experience this historic route walked by legendary climbers like Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa in 1954.  The trail goes through the jaw dropping mountain vista set in the backdrop of culturally rich Sherpa villages, dense forest offering home to diverse range of flora and fauna and furiously galloping snow fed rivers.

This incredibly enticing trip starts from upper Phakding and following Dudh Koshi Valley it goes to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar. Namche is the bustling bazaar and a meeting point for trekkers and local Sherpa. From Namche the trail goes along a high traversing path and offers a magnificent view of Everest and then head towards Tengboche monastery. Tengboche monastery sits in the altitude of 3867m and is surrounded by firs and Rhododendron. The monastery grants commanding view of Everest landscape. From Tengboche we will go down to Imja Khola and continue the walk through the villages of Pangboche and Periche which ultimately lead us to Khumbu glacier. And following the glacier we will trek to Lobuche which is the vantage point offering spectacular view of Ama Dablam, Tawache along with hodgepodge of many others. From here we will trek to Gorakshep and ultimately climb to Kalapatthar(5545m). Kalapatthar offers spectacular panorama of regal Himalayas which will leave you dumbfounded. We then trek down to Everest base camp which is situated at the foot of Khumbu icefall and ultimate make our way down to Lukla.
