The Sagarmatha (forehead of the sky) in Nepali and Chomolungma in Tibetan is known as Mt. Everest in the world. Mt. Everest with the altitude of 8848m, is the highest peak in the earth, so, it is also known as the roof of the world. The South face of this recognized mountain lies in Nepal where as the North face is said to be laid in China’s autonomous state Tibet. This world’s highest peak was first officially measured in 1956 during the Great Trigonometry Survey of British India government and then known as Peak XV certified with the height of 8840m. With a simple technology and the distance from the mountain, the height was determined with really phenomenal accuracy and only 8m off from current value of 8848m.

The name of British Surveyor in 1956 was Sir George Everest also the General of British India during the survey period and hence to honor him the name of this highest peak was chosen as Mt. Everest. Tibet and Nepal were closed to foreigners, so it is reasonable to assume that local names of the mountain were unknown. It was lucky that the tallest mountain was not named after an unaccomplished politician or a royal family member.

The wealthy but inexperienced climber can be accomplished with everyone in a climbing pinnacle of Mt. Everest. The climbers can be taken to the summit for a substantial fee by a professional mountain guide with a team of climbing Sherpa guides. There are two commercial routes on Everest expedition, south route via Southeast Ridge from Nepal and via North Ridge from Tibet. The royalty of Everest Expedition from Tibet Side (North Face) is much lower.

ClimberCA is delighted to offer the world-class service in the Advance Base Camp and other higher camps of Mt. Everest from its north face in Tibet. Our service covers since arrivals in Kathmandu, Hotel accommodations, transfer to Kodari border for Tibet, 4 wheel drives and tea house full board services from Nyalam till Tingri before arriving to advance base camp.

The climbing Guides of the consortium are highly skilled, regularly reviewed and re-trained and recognized for their training and experience throughout the profession. We only take the most experienced guides and staff on this expedition. This is a serious climb and mistakes can have serious consequences. This is why we focus extensively on safety and accident prevention for both clients and guides on our Everest expedition. No expedition is without risk and certainly not one to the highest Mountain of the world. However, we implement rigorous safety standards to minimize the risk. We’d also like to highlight that our guides and staff are all employed under ethical standards.

Approaches to ABC from South (Nepal):

The approached on its south side is through the Khumbu region of Nepal leading up to the Khumbu Glacier extending down to Lobuche (4900m). It starts with the flight to Lukla and the trek via Namche Bazaar (3440m), Tengaboche (36600m), Pheriche (4270m), Lobuche (4910m), Gorak Shep (5140m) to Everest South Base Camp (5364m). It takes typically 8 days to reach ABC from Kathmandu.

Climbing Routes South Side:

South route is technically a trekking route with a little objective danger once past the Khumbu icefall apart of few crevasses and seracs bridged by ladders, couple short ice cliffs around camp 3 and rock sections protected with fixed lines. There is an obvious danger of high altitude sickness complications and changeable, unpredictable mountain weather.

The Khumbu Icefall is a steep glacier with obvious implication of large crevasses and treacherous unstable seracs making navigation complicated and riddled with high objective danger of falling ice. This is the most dangerous part of the climb. At the beginning of the climbing period, climbing Sherpa set the route through the icefall installing ladders across crevasses and along vertical seracs ice walls for efficient and easy climbing. These arrangements make climb of the Khumbu ice fall possible, efficient and relatively safe especially early morning before the sunrise, when the ice structure is well frozen. Khumbu ice fall is very dangerous in the afternoon due to its western aspect.

Mt. Kanchenjunga (8586m) Expedition

Kangchenjunga.JPG

Kanchanjunga (8,586m) is the third-highest peak in the world after Mr. K2 in Pakistan and the second-highest of Nepal. It was first climbed by a British team in 1956 A.D. The peak consists of four summits. The west summit, Yalung Kang, is 8420m high and some people classify it as a separate 8000m Peak. The first Westerner to explore Kanchanjunga was the British botanist JD Hooker, who visited the area twice in 1848 and 1849. Exploration of the Sikkim, side of the peak continued with both British and expert explorers mapping and photographing until 1899. In that year a party led by Douglas made a circuit of Kanchanjunga and produced a map which is still one of the most authoritative maps of the region. Exploration continued mostly from the Sikkim side, starting from Darjeeling in British India. One of the major contributors to Western knowledge about the region was Dr AM Kellas, who later died in Tibet during the approach of the 1921 Everest expedition. German expeditions attempt to climb the peak in 1929, 1930 and again in 1931, but none was successful. After the Sikkim was closed but Nepal still was opened. In 1955 a team led by Dr Charl as Evans approached the peak via the Yalung Glacier. The Japanese then took up the challenge and mounted expeditions in 1967, 1973 and 1974 and they climbed Yalung Kang. A German Expedition group climbed Yalung Kang in 1975, and an Indian army team mounted the second successful expeditions to the main peak of Kanchanjunga.
