Royal Trek in Annapurna is a one of the most stunning trekking route of the Annapurna Region Trekking Package. This trek trail takes you through remote villages of the region. The artistically built houses and the ever-smiling local people of this region are just superb to get through. However, tea-houses may be in a rare number that makes you build camps for night-stay.

As mentioned earlier, this trek is listed under the type “Camping”. Positively, it’s more fun to build camps for night-stay rather than staying at hotels, especially while you are on a trek. From an altitude of 820m you get to the top of the trek at 1800m. This trekking route is categorized as an easy one. You also do not need to worry about altitude sickness. Anyone who is in a good health can go for this trek. The best season to start this trek is between September and November, and February and May. However, if you want, the trek can be arranged at any month of the year.

This trekking route has been famous since Prince Charles of Britain followed this path. It was named “ Royal Trek” since then.

Makalu base camp trek yet another trekking destination that is well appreciated by the trekkers. Makalu with the altitude of 8475m is the 5th highest mountain in the world known for its utterly marvelous untouched natural beauty. Situated very close to Everest region Makalu Base Camp trek takes you through the beautiful Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Area. The park is recognized internationally for its exquisiteness along with the diversity of flora and fauna. Some of the endangered species of flora and fauna found in the park includes Rhododendrons, Orchids, Snow Leopard, Red Panda, Musk deer, Wild boar, Wild Yak, Himalayan Thar along with more 420species of native as well as migratory birds. Some locales have also informed about the view of elusive Himalayan giant the Yeti time and again.

Makalu Base Camp Trek begins from Tumlingtar which is situated in mid-eastern Nepal which is an hour away flight from Kathmandu. The actual walk begins from Chiclila which is 3-hour’s drive from Tumlingtar. Following the beautiful Barun river valley in the Makalu Barun National Park and conservation area we will cross passes like Shipton La, Keke La and lakes like Kalopokhari all the way to Base Camp which is situated at the altitude of 5000m. On the way we will be awed by the jaw dropping view of Mt Makalu along with Everest, Lhotse, Chamlang, Baruntse with the hodgepodge of many others. The whole area gives you the vibe of remote wilderness enclosing some of the pristine forests and alpine meadows of Nepal.

Makalu base camp trek require utmost 5-6hours of walk daily. Walking to the high mountains through the thrilling passes is the part of your adventure journey. Anyone with prior trekking experience and in good shape can make through this fairly challenging trek. The trek is purely a camping trek and no lodges are available in the route.

Overview

Upper mustang trek is one of the most exotic treks that introduce us to the hidden world of old Buddhist kingdom Mustang also called Lo. In the past this area used to be the part of Tibetan empire, which makes this place much similar to Tibet in both land topography and lifestyle. Tibetan Buddhism is still practiced here in very raw form.

Mustang situated in the rain shadow area of Dhaulagiri takes you in to a desolate landscape which is surrounded by rocks of bizarre formation. The upper Mustang trek takes us to Lo Manthang. Lo Manthang is a medieval town surrounded by huge town wall and was attached into Tibet unitil 14th century. The area is restricted and requires special permit. Lo Manthang is a small kingdom which still has a King. The Palace is surrounded by gompas and houses.

Upper Mustang trek gives you once in a lifetime opportunity to experience unique arid Himalayan beauty along with unusual landscape. The landscape here is characterized by windy and arid valleys, eroded canyons and stratified rock formation. As we return we will visit the holy temple of Muktinath which is sacred to both Hindus and Buddhist.
