Muztagh Ata 7546 m Expedition 2026

Muztagh Ata Xinjiang China

The Father of Ice Mountains

Expedition 2026 | Kyrgyzstan – China Pamir

Rising to 7,546 meters in the eastern Pamirs of Xinjiang, China, Muztagh Ata is one of the most accessible and rewarding 7,000-meter peaks in the world. Thanks to its broad western slopes, non-technical glaciated terrain, and relatively stable, dry continental weather, it has become a premier objective for high-altitude mountaineers and ski-alpinists worldwide.

Often called the “Father of Ice Mountains,” Muztagh Ata offers the perfect introduction to extreme altitude without demanding technical climbing skills. It is an ideal expedition for experienced mountaineers aiming to step beyond 7,000 meters — as well as for ski mountaineers seeking one of the most spectacular high-altitude descents on Earth.

Join ClimberCA and experience the vast glaciers, golden deserts, and immense horizons of the Chinese Pamir.

Expedition Overview

Our program follows a classic acclimatization strategy with three high camps and a rotation system designed to maximize summit success and safety.

Route Profile

  • Base Camp: 4,450 m

  • Camp 1: 5,350 m

  • Camp 2: 6,200 m

  • Camp 3: 6,800 m

  • Summit: 7,546 m

The ascent follows wide snow slopes (typically 20–35°), crevassed glaciated terrain, and high-altitude plateaus. While technically straightforward, the mountain demands strong endurance, proper acclimatization, and solid glacier travel skills.

Lenin Peak (7134 m), Pamirs — Guaranteed Departure Guided Expeditions 2026

Guided Expedition with Established High-Altitude Camps

Pamir Mountains | Kyrgyzstan | 2026
Fully Guided Group Expedition

Overview

Join a professionally guided ascent of Lenin Peak (7134 m) — one of the world’s most renowned and objectively accessible 7000‑meter summits. This expedition is conducted in a fully guided international group format and is ideally suited for individual climbers, mountaineers without a fixed team, and those making their first step into true high‑altitude expeditions.

Under the supervision of experienced high‑altitude guides, participants follow a proven acclimatization strategy, receive practical training in snow and glacier travel, and are supported throughout the entire route — from Base Camp to the summit push. The program prioritizes safety, gradual altitude adaptation, and disciplined expedition logistics.

An ascent of Lenin Peak is widely regarded as a natural progression between 6000‑meter objectives and major Himalayan expeditions, offering climbers a realistic assessment of physical readiness, altitude tolerance, and expedition skills in a genuine 7000‑meter environment.

About Khan Tengri Peak

Khan Tengri is renowned not only for its height, but also for its steep ice slopes, powerful icefalls, and avalanche-prone couloirs, which make every ascent demanding and highly rewarding. Despite its reputation as a “technical” seven-thousander, Khan Tengri remains one of the most desirable objectives for experienced alpinists worldwide.

Routes to the Summit: South & North

Khan Tengri can be climbed from two main directions, each with its own character:

  • South Route (South Inylchek Glacier)
The more classic and commonly used approach, featuring established Base Camp infrastructure, logical camp progression, and excellent acclimatization opportunities. It is often chosen for guided group expeditions.

  • North Route (North Inylchek / Karkara side)
This route is preferred by experienced climbers because it is less avalanche-prone than the southern approach, although it is technically more demanding. Currently, we provide logistics compatible with the South Inylchek Base Camp system, ensuring reliable access and full expedition support.

👉 ClimberCA offers guided expedition programs on both the South and North routes, allowing participants to choose the approach that best fits their experience and objectives.
